Key Responsibilities
- Provides operational support to the site leadership team to ensure the compliance of environmental, health & safety management system
- Manages legal requirements & company standards compliance
- Supervises and mentors local EHS team
- Carried out forensic root cause analysis for site accidents and incidents, liaising with insurance companies and handling any claims
- Develops, reviews, and updates EHS procedures, records and other management systems documents including, but not limited to, emergency preparedness, building risk assessments, and other H&S required documentation, statutory and group reporting
- Maintains company ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system certification
- Consults and advises top management of environmental, health and safety issues
- Communicates safety requirements to the organization in an effective way and creates safety awareness throughout Irish sites
- Manages a network of external partners: occupational health, insurance experts, local authorities and key contractors
Essential Requirements
- Recognized formal Health and Safety Qualifications
- At least 7 years experience in the area of Health & Safety
- Excellent knowledge of local and EU EHS regulations and compliance
- Solid background in production environment
- Very good communication & interpersonal skills with can do attitude
Desirable Requirements
- Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage change
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of management and to clearly present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, peers, and customers
